Wireless MIDI Receiver for Accordion — Fulgerton RX Ultra

The wireless MIDI receiver for accordion systems from Fulgerton receives performance data from a compatible wireless transmitter and forwards it to a connected sound module or other compatible MIDI equipment. It is designed for compact 5V installations that require freedom from a conventional MIDI cable.

Main characteristics

  • Wireless MIDI reception for compatible accordion installations
  • 5V power supply
  • MIDI output for connection to compatible sound equipment
  • External antenna connections

  • Compact plug-and-play installation when used with the correct transmitter and wiring

The receiver can be integrated with the compatible Fulgerton transmitter and with the Juzi Sound connection shown in the installation tutorials.

Connection tutorials

Installation notice: Confirm the MIDI connector, pinout and 5V supply before connection. Wireless performance depends on the RF environment, antenna placement, power quality and correct installation.

How the wireless MIDI receiver for accordion works

The transmitter installed with the accordion sends MIDI performance data through the wireless link. Fulgerton RX Ultra receives that data and passes it to the connected MIDI sound equipment. The receiver does not create sounds by itself and does not replace the MIDI sensor system inside the accordion. Its role is to replace the physical MIDI data cable between compatible devices.

Stage and rehearsal applications

This wireless MIDI receiver for accordion installations is useful when the musician needs freedom of movement on stage or wants to reduce the number of cables connected directly to the instrument. The receiving unit can remain near the sound module, arranger, sampler or other MIDI equipment. Correct antenna position and clean 5V power help maintain a stable connection in normal operating conditions.

Installation requirements

Before connection, confirm the transmitter model, MIDI connector, pinout, supply voltage and polarity. The external antennas must be installed correctly and kept away from shielding metal surfaces when possible. Wireless performance depends on the venue, other radio equipment, obstacles, antenna placement and power quality. For this reason, the complete system should be tested in the actual performance environment before use on stage.

MIDI output and compatibility

The receiver forwards MIDI data to compatible downstream equipment. The receiving sound device must be configured for the MIDI channels, notes and controllers sent by the accordion system. If the connected equipment uses a different connector or pinout, a correctly wired adapter is required. Do not connect an unverified supply or cable because incorrect wiring can damage the receiver or connected equipment.

Related SoundPro equipment

Fulgerton RX Ultra can be used with a compatible transmitter and a suitable sound source such as the SoundPro X5 SD card MIDI sampler module. For a complete MIDI and sampling installation, see the SoundPro X5 accordion MIDI sampler system. General MIDI technology information is available from the MIDI Association.

Practical verification before performance

Power the receiver and transmitter, confirm the operating indicators, play notes across the accordion range and verify that the connected sound equipment receives the expected MIDI data. Test User controls, bellows expression and all required sections of the instrument. Repeat the test at the intended stage distance and with the complete amplification system operating.

Basic troubleshooting checks

If MIDI data is not received, verify 5V power, transmitter operation, antenna connections, MIDI cable pinout and the input configuration of the connected sound device. Test at a short distance first, then increase the distance gradually. If notes are received incorrectly, check the MIDI mapping and channels in the accordion system and sound equipment before changing the wireless hardware.

Testing the wireless MIDI receiver for accordion use

Test the wireless MIDI receiver for accordion operation with the complete performance setup, including the transmitter, sound module and amplification. Confirm reliable note, controller and bellows data throughout the required playing area.
